I seem to recall that when we did shepherding calls we were also able to count the time.

How Did "Shepherding Calls" Go For You?
by minimus indid you loath them?
did you feel it was a "privilege" to have the elders care deeply about your spiritual well being?
if you were an elder or ministerial servant, did you enjoy going to the homes of the sheep?.

What would be your favorite job if you could do anything.?
by new hope and happiness inon the basis that most of us realise the w.t wasnt really the best " job" or way to spend our days, it would be fun to find out what people would really have liked to have done with there lifes and if this is still possible.
or maybe its not even a very realistic ambition just a dream.
in my dreams i stay at home all day and make a living from being a professional artist.maybe i need a phycholgist?.

Here you go:
>>Those who have received the forgiveness of their Father and who have humbly proved themselves to be good slaves after returning from their unclean, disfellowshiped condition may in time even prove to be suitable stewards in their Father’s household. Over an extensive period of time they live down the blotch of reproach that they have brought on their personal record, with bad impressions also upon people on the outside. If, because of the blameless conduct of one since his reinstatement, the congregation has come to view him as a good example, then if such a person, who was at one time disfellowshiped but has now returned and shown humility, proved his love for Jehovah’s Word and work for TEN YEARS after reinstatement, it would be in harmony with the parable of the prodigal son if such one were used as a congregation book study conductor and allowed to give public talks. Later, he may even be privileged to serve in a greater capacity in Jehovah’s organization.<<

There WAS a 10 year rule. If you'd been DF'd, leastways up until around 1962 /1963, you were permanently banned from ever holding a ministerial position - FOR EVER!
However, because of Great Loving Kindness, persons who'd been spotless for a minimum of 10 after being DF'd, would sometimes be allowed to become an MS. This came in around the mid 60's.

What happened to member "Amazing"?
by EdenOne ini have read last night the personal story of forum member "amazing", which he posted in 19 installments about 12 years ago.
there are so many things about his experience that i can relate with.
he seems to have vanished from this forum, for his last post as "amazing" was about 3 years ago.

American Rantings About World Cup Soccer (Football)
by RubaDub ini try ... i really try to watch football (soccer) ... it's world cup time ... i really do try.. i just don't get it ... i really don't.. yes, it's a world-wide sport.
in most countries it is the number 1 or number 2 sport ... no doubt about it.
it's maybe number 5 in the usa for professional sports.. from an american's perspective (i think i speak for many), we just wonder if these guys actually have testicles.

Us stolid English chaps don't do the faking stuff. We're far too anal for that. Now the more expressive Latin countries do tend to act like drama queens when it comes to the beautiful game. But they do that all the time anyway, not just when it involves football.

Expect more Crazy as JW.ORG trims the fat and fills the coffers.
by donuthole inwhen rutherford assumed the presidency of the watchtower society he instituted series of sweeping changes to the teachings and practices of the bible students.
some of these changes were at complete odds with what had been taught previously.
a key example was the elevation of the watchtower society as "god's visible organization on earth".

Yup. The dissenters will be lableled as "evil slave" and will be forever weeping and gnashing their teeth.
Although teeth gnashing can be a source of humour..

What has the WTS EVER "predicted" that has actually come true?
by integ inyou'd think they could point to something right?
obviously we're the one true religion".. i can't fathom how anyone of any intelligence would be willing to join up with this org after doing even rudimentary research.. for years they have taught that it's wrong to seek advanced education or to plan for a "worldly" future by trusting in this system of things and then this past sunday the watchtower article rips on people for not planning for the future in regard to their elderly relatives.
maybe if they hadn't been teaching for 100 yr's that the end was "just around the corner" and telling us we'd better believe that fact...or else, we would have planned better for a future that you said without reservation would not even occur.. what mind blowing prediction can they point to that would convince someone "oh yeah..these guys have it right"...?.
